MENTAL HEALTH: ANXIETY, DEPRESSION AND SELF-HARM ON RISE AMONG TEENS

Picture took from the BBC web page.

In this article, a BBC’s reporter wrote about the increasing number of mental health problem, and the relationship it has with the academic and personal development.

I have chosen this article because, for me, having a good mental health is basic if we want to teach them, and to make them learn properly. The most common negative behaviours we can see in the article are anxiety difficulties, depression issues, and lonely concerns.

These issues are very important because if we don't have them in mind, they can generate seriously problems, such as suicide, or hurting themselves. That's why, the action of specialist, doctors, psychologists, and therapist are relevant. Thanks to theirs intervention, a lot of children mental problems has decreased, however these concerns are always going to stay with us, so we must attend them.

I agree with this BBC article. It's good well known that after the lock-down, a lot of people are suffering from mental issues. So, teachers must concern all these issues if they want to achieve properly all the content and the procedures in class. In addition, teachers must design activities having in mind these mental issues,  suggesting activities using cooperatives strategies.
